CT Rescues Coming

Addicus' Legacy Dog Rescue

Addicus' Legacy will be bringing rescue dogs that have been pulled from high kill shelters in Texas and been fostered down there and then up in Ct.  Please click on their name above to see what dogs are available.

Brass City Rescue Alliance

Brass City will be coming to our event with adoptable dogs.   Please click on their name above to see what dogs are coming.

The following dogs are available through Brass City Rescue Alliance

Babycakes will not be coming to the event but is available.

Babycakes is a 2.5 year old tripod Bull Terrier Mix. She weighs 44lbs. Baby is house trained and loves belly rubs. She is not a bed hog and will keep you warm and comfy all night. :) This dog has great leash manners and is the PERFECT family pet. She loves the car, wants to be with her people all the time. Very clean, crate trained, house trained, three legs does not slow her down at all. A fenced in yard would be ideal because she doesn't care for other dogs,  We are working on her tolerance for other dogs as she is afraid of them. With continued training she has gotten much better. Because of this, we recommend a house with no other animals. She loves marrow bones, eating the tissues you leave on the floor during the night, and gives you the saddest face when you leave for the day. BUT, she quite possibly has the biggest smile ever possible when you arrive home. This dog is a gem.

Blossom and her sister Flower are 4.5 Doxie mixes.  They are bonded, but we aren't opposed to separating them as they may thrive being separated. They were rescued from Odessa, Texas High kill shelter. They are good with respectful kids. They were living in a home where they were allowed to do as the pleased so they will need a strong leader, who has patience. They have been at the shelter a week and have come such a long way! They are pee pad trained, and crate trained. They are super sweet and just want love and affection, all with time and patience. They need to work on socialization as they were deprived of that in their previous home! They are good with smaller dogs, no large dogs and no cats! One adoption fee of $385 for these girls.

Bruno is a very sweet and gentle soul at around age 2 years. He loves to play with dogs of all sizes, is great on a leash and adores belly rubs. Bruno was abandoned in a crate in an eviction and left to starve. Fortunately, the contractors came right in and found him helpless. Since the very moment that Bruno came into our rescue, he has been a blessing. He loves to be bathed, lay on soft bedding and chew on his marrow bones. He thinks he's on vacation. Bruno is an odd mix of breed and he even has an under bite. We joke that he has some Pug in him but it's possibly some Boston Terrier. A DNA test would be mighty interesting! If you'd like to meet Bruno and see if he would fit into your pack, please put in an application on our website. He can't wait to meet you!

This pup is great with kids and other dogs. Not cat tested. Fully vetted which means: altered, rabies, distemper, bordatella, heart worm test, fecal test, de-wormed and microchip.

This is our sweet Ella, a rescue from the Waterbury Dog Pound (Basil). This little gal is about 3.5 years old, a Hound/English Staffordshire Terrier Mix (but there was no selection button).  She is FRIENDLY. Hasn't met a person that she didn't like. She is great with other dogs but can sometimes be bossy. This chick needs exercise. She LOVES kids. This is NO joke. She stops and licks every single kid she lays eyes on and the kids cannot resist her either. Ella is spayed, UTD, housebroken and is very treat motivated. he knows sit and we are working on other commands. She loves belly rubs and plays with dog ropes like a champ (probably never had toys :( She would be an absolute treasure to any family.

Gloria is a beautiful 6 year old 49 lb. Gloria is a Beagle/Dalmation Mix  who is really playful but really loves to snuggle. She loves to play chase me with her pink ball, and loves her daily walks. We think she's really fun for a middle aged lady! She's great with big kids but may be nervous around little ones because of how quick and loud they can be. She goes potty outside and will let you know when it’s time. She loves to be outside in a fenced yard, especially if her human is outside too. She's a beautiful beagle mix and would be a wonderful addition to her forever family." Like I said before, there's always a "right before they became a princess moment" and mine is that I lived in an abandoned building in Brooklyn for years! Talk about a tough cookie! But thanks to nice humans who fed me, I kept my big heart bright and even had my own little dog house. On sunny days, I would take a blanket someone gave me and put it out while the sun shined on me. And at night I would bring it back in my dog house to make my bed. (And I STILL love being covered up with my blankie at night!) Maybe that's what kept me so warm. Or maybe it's knowing my forever family would be looking for me and maybe that's you. Dogs make everything better and I want to be that dog to you! So hurry! I've been waiting a long time for my happy ending! (P.S.~I would do best in a home with senior larger well-mannered dogs, no small animals for me, please!) Gloria is spayed, up to date on her shots and microchipped.

He isn't a fan of a car, but who could blame him? He thinks he's going to be dumped again! He is good with respectful kids over the age of 8. He loves to play!

Troy and Ivy won't be actually coming to this event but are available.  Please contact the rescue directly if interested in meeting them.

Troy is an amazing man at seven years young. He is good with all medium and large dogs and loves to play. He's calm, great on a leash, awesome in the car. Loves bones and anything that squeaks. he's housetrained and just stares at you with adoration. Troy's sister came into the shelter with him and got adopted fairly quickly. He was very lonely and depressed when he bonded with Ivy, a deaf Pittie in our rescue. Ivy is NOT fond of any other animals but for some reason, fell head over heels for Troy. They have been inseparable ever since. Troy is neutered, has rabies, distemper, bordetella and is heart worm negative. Will be microchipped before adoption. Please apply on this site if interested in meeting Troy and Ivy. They will be the love of your life. ONE adoption fee for pairs. $385.00

CT Animal House

CT Animal House will be coming with their adoptable dogs and is also well known for bringing other local shelter dogs.  Click on their name above to see what dogs they have now.

The dogs below are available through CT Animal House and will be coming to the event.

MEET OUR BIG BEN!

Gentle Ben is what we call this guy. Ben came to us when we received a call from animal control for help with a 2 year old Shar Pei/Staffie mix that needed double Entropian surgery on his eyes.   Ben was suffering and could barely open his eyes from the pain and infection.  After meeting Ben we knew that we needed to help him.  Ben has had his “eyes done” and is doing fabulous.  He is completely healed and ready to find a family.  Ben likes everyone and everything!  He lives with his foster brother Chopper, a senior Chi.  We can’t say enough about this special dog.

For more info please fill out an application at Ctanimalhouse.org or call Chris Lamb at 860-271-1361.

MEET OUR MABEL!

Mabel is a big personality in a small package!  This 3 year old Bassett Hound Mix is looking for an active family that likes to go for long walks, play ball, and snuggle.  She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go.  She is good with kids over 8, but NO kitties for Mabel.  She is good with submissive dogs, as she likes to hoard her toys, other’s toys, and pretty much every toy!  If you would like to meet this cutie, please fill out an application at Ctanimalhouse.org or call Chris Lamb at 860-271-1361.

MEET OUR MAX!  (Dark Gray next to Pillows)

Max is a handsome 1 Year old Cane Corso that was found on the streets of Hartford.  This poor guy was frantically searching for someone to help him.  Thanks to his patient foster mom Elizabeth, he was saved.  Max is a typical Cane Corso.  He can be protective and nervous with some new people.  He is great with his foster brothers and has a blast playing and snuggling with them.  We would like Max to go to an experienced mastiff owner that will continue to socialize Max so he gains more confidence with new people.  He is an amazing dog that deserves an amazing home.  For more info please fill out an application at Ctanimalhouse.org or call Chris Lamb at 860-271-1361.

MEET OUR MIYA!

Miss Miya is the sweetest dog that you will ever meet.  This 1 ½ year old Hound/Pointer/Pittie? mix just wants to love a family of her own,  She is a great hugger and snuggler.  Miya is great  with other dogs, and people of all ages.  She is attending daycare with her friends at All Bright Canines in Oakdale, and will receive training with her new family while settling in.  Miya is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.  She would do best in a home with another playmate, fine with kitties, and great with kids.

For more info on Miya please fill out an application at Ctanimalhouse.org or call Chris Lamb at 860-271-1361.

MEET OUR TEDDY!

Poor little Teddy bear!  This 9 year old Llhasa Apso was found with his 4 siblings in terrible condition from neglect.  Teddy was the worst case.  We just couldn’t leave this guy at animal control, and we have now begun the task of getting him well.  Teddy needs to gain a good bit of weight and have some skin issues tended to.  He is mostly blind, and deaf.  He has made tremendous progress in the short time that he has received nutritious food and vet care.  Teddy loves to snuggle in his soft blankets and is good with other dogs and kitties.  This sweet senior deserves to be pampered and loved.

For more info on Teddy please fill out an application at Ctanimalhouse.org or call Chris Lamb at 860-271-1361.
